Hello Dublin.....

We made it safely across the Irish Sea into the port of Belfast. After a couple hours' drive south, we made our way to the Renaissance Shelbourne, our home away from home for the next several days. The hotel has been around since the late 19th century. Off the reception area is a small museum full of old hotel registration books, menus etc. Pretty cool to see how well preserved their records were after all of those years. Here are a few pictures below from the museum. After getting settled into the hotel, we made our way out and about. Take note of the picture from Grace of Monaco and the letter from Henry Ford. The City Centre of Dublin is bustling so there was plenty to see and do.

The Hairy Lemon is Kristen's cue to turn right on her way to Hot Yoga while she is hear. I find it best to give her landmarks to keep her on point. It is quite possible that she may well have been tempted by the incredible donuts that live in some of the bakeries here. I said may people!

We love the ivy that adorns so many of the buildings here. As fall is approaching the colors are tremendous.

The streets were also full of flower stands, selling their wares. With an ever present breeze blowing, the streets were filled with a myriad of wonderful scents from the many stands like this one.

As it was almost dinner time once we were settled into our room, we didn't get out too much yesterday. I have included a few pics from our walkabout though. The last picture for today is of Matt the Thresher, a wonderful steak and seafood restaurant where we had dinner. Being hard by the sea, the seafood here is spot on. A wonderful meal to end the our first day in Dublin. Tomorrow I hit the links at The Island Club with Portmarnock Golf Club to follow on Wednesday. I will likely cover both course on my next posting. That is all!
